Currently indian companies are facing a bad name these days for their work culture. After the death of 26 year old CA Anna Sebastian Perayil of Ernst & Young india (EY India) due to excessive work pressure, indian companies are being accused of misbehaving with the employees. Recently, after the suicide of an employee of Bajaj Finance, these allegations have gained more momentum. Now Zoho CEO sridhar Vembu, who is respected in the indian business world, has said that companies that put employees in a big pressure cooker and make them work will not prove to be a long distance horse.
Perhaps sridhar Vembu said that the atmosphere inside the office is spoiled by many things. Only working hours are not responsible for this. people come away from their families for work. They have to waste hours to reach the office. They get lonely. Unfortunately, some break down in such circumstances. If we have to ensure the future of our company, we will have to create a good working environment. sridhar Vembu said that I have been working for about 28 years and want to work for the same number of years. But, for this, I cannot play with my body. I do not want any of my employees to do this.
Moreover this debate regarding work pressure has been going on since the death of Ana Sebastian. Her mother Anita Augustine had written an email to EY india Chairman Rajiv Memani and appealed to stop promoting more work. EY india and Rajiv Memani have also apologized in this matter. They also assured that they will continue to work in the interest of the employees. The central government has also started an investigation in this matter.
