The delhi high court on monday settled the matter related to the installation of rani Laxmibai's statue near Shahi Idgah in Motia Khan area of Delhi. On october 7, the high court was told in this case that keeping in mind the religious sentiments of the Muslim community, the statue of the queen of jhansi has been installed in the corner of the park at a distance of 200 meters from the wall of Idgah.
A wall has also been built around the rani Laxmibai statue. So that those who offer namaz do not face any inconvenience. In response to this, during the hearing in the high court on monday, the lawyer of the Idgah Management Committee also did not raise any objection.
The high court had said this two days ago
In this case, the delhi high court had told a committee of concerned government agencies on october 5 that you take the people of Idgah management to the park and show them where the statue of rani Laxmibai is? Two days ago, during the hearing in the high court, the delhi Municipal Corporation had informed that the statue of Jhansi's rani Lakshmibai has been installed. It will be covered from three sides. This statue has been installed at a distance of two hundred meters from the wall of Idgah. Whereas the lawyer of the Idgah Committee had said that the statue of rani Lakshmibai has been installed in Motia Khan Park.
The single bench had rejected the petition
In fact, after the installation of rani Lakshmibai's statue near Motia Khan, the Shahi Idgah Management Committee had said in the petition in the delhi high court that the ongoing encroachment on the land of Shahi Idgah should be stopped, because it is a Waqf property. The petition mentioned the gazette notification of 1970, in which Shahi Idgah Park was described as an ancient property, which was built during the Mughal period. On this, the single bench rejected the petition and said that the open area around the boundary of Idgah and Idgah Park is the property of DDA.
