Two people who went to clean a drain in Pilanji village of Sarojini nagar police station area died of suffocation due to poisonous gas, while the third is being treated in the hospital. The deceased in this case have been identified as Babundra Kumar Singh (29) and Ramasare (41). They were residents of Gopalganj in bihar and hamirpur district of UP. While, Srinath Soren (28) of West bengal is undergoing treatment at AIIMS Trauma Center. police have registered an FIR in this case and are investigating.
Two workers who went down the drain fell unconscious, the third who went to save them also fainted
According to the information received from DCP South West Surendra Chaudhary, Sarojini nagar police station had received information about the collapse of a building from a PCR call, in which it was told that three-four people were trapped in the debris due to the collapse of the building near Metro Gate No. 1.
On receiving the information of the incident, the local police immediately reached the spot, where they came to know that two workers had gone down to clean a drain at the NBCC construction site located near Metro Gate No. 2 in Pilanji village. The drain is not in use at present, they fell unconscious in the drain. On this, another worker was sent inside the drain, he also fell unconscious. Two workers Babundra Kumar Singh and Srinath Soren were immediately taken to the hospital by the ambulance of VCL Construction Company, while the third worker Ramasare was sent to AIIMS Trauma Center by ERV.

Out of the two workers sent to Safdarjung Hospital, one Babundra Kumar Singh died during treatment, while Ramasare, who was taken to AIIMS Trauma Center in an unconscious state, was also declared dead by the doctors. The treatment of the third worker Srinath Soren is going on. The police took the body into custody and kept it for post-mortem and yesterday after the post-mortem at AIIMS Trauma Center, his body was handed over to his family members.
