After the results of haryana assembly elections, now there is a discussion on caste votes, which party got votes of which caste. Meanwhile, a survey of CDS has come out which shows that whether it is bjp, which won the election, or its main rival congress, neither of them got votes en bloc from any caste. There is a scattering of caste votes.
Dalit votes have been discussed a lot in Haryana. According to CSDS, 50 percent Jatav voters have voted for congress while 35 percent have voted in favor of BJP. On the other hand, if we talk about other scheduled castes, 45 percent of them have voted for bjp and 33 percent have voted for Congress. congress has been dependent on Dalit and Jat votes to return to power, but bjp has made a dent in the Dalit and Jat vote bank of Congress.
bjp improves performance on sc reserved seats
haryana has 17 seats reserved for Scheduled Castes, out of which bjp won eight. congress won the remaining nine. bjp won the Dalit areas of Nilokheri, Pataudi, Kharkhoda, Hodal, Bawal, Narwana, Israna and Bawani Khera. Surprisingly, congress state president Udaybhan lost. bjp had won five seats reserved for Scheduled Castes in the 2019 assembly elections.
Did this decision get sc votes?
This victory is also due to some decisions of the Naib Singh saini government, such as accepting the report of the scheduled caste Commission. Dhanak, Bajigar, Kabirpanthi, Valmiki, Mazhabi and Mazhabi Sikh were included in the category of deprived Scheduled Castes for reservation in government jobs, while Chamar, Rahgar, Raigad, Ravidasi, Ramdasi and Mochi were sub-classified in other sc castes. This decision was beneficial for BJP.
