There is a unique temple of Ravana in kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, whose doors open once a year. On this day, Jalabhishek, decoration and worship take place. This temple, built in the year 1868, is believed to fulfill every wish. Ravana is seen once a year and worship is done due to Ravana's devotion and knowledge. people wait for dussehra throughout the year. On the day of Vijay Dashami, amidst the tradition of Ravana's killing and burning, Ravana is burnt at different places in kanpur, while worship and decoration take place in this famous Ravana temple of the city.

For centuries, we have been reading and listening to the character of Ravana in stories and texts. In which we know Ravana's image as against dignity and ram as Maryada Purushottam. Due to which, in the war between ram and Ravana, ram, who fought the battle of truth, won and untruth lost in the form of Ravana. Even today, there is a temple in kanpur which was established in 1868.

There is a huge Shivling in this temple and a statue of Ravana was also installed here, which was prepared by a family living in Unnao. The doors of this temple are opened once a year i.e. on dussehra and on this day Ravana is anointed with milk and water. Then after decoration, he is worshipped with Aarti and many devotees reach here together.

Ravan was killed due to bad deeds

There is a belief about this temple that once a year when a devotee makes a wish after visiting here, his wish is definitely fulfilled in this temple. There is a belief related to the temple that Ravana is worshipped here for his knowledge and devotion and he was killed due to his bad deeds, but everyone has a good and a bad side. Due to which, considering Ravana's knowledge and devotion as a symbol of his devotion, the temple is opened once a year on vijayadashami and the rest of the year the temple remains closed. There is also a belief that the day Ravana was killed by ram, he got salvation on the same day and he also got a new birth on the same day. Due to which Ravana's birthday is also celebrated in this temple on Dussehra.
