Reportedly the party leaders are shocked after the defeat of congress in the haryana assembly elections. Former rajasthan Chief minister and congress observer in haryana ashok gehlot said in a special conversation with ABP news on friday (October 11) that the results are shocking. He also admitted that one of the reasons for the defeat could be factionalism. Gehlot also agreed with rahul Gandhi's statement in the party meeting and said that in the elections, the leaders put personal interest above party interest. Regarding the alliance with the Aam Aadmi party, Gehlot also said that it would have been good if there was an alliance.
Perhaps the big thing is that ashok gehlot feels that the defeat in haryana elections can also affect the maharashtra elections, but expressed hope that the situation will improve as soon as the election campaign starts.
Moreover on the review meeting of mallikarjun Kharge and rahul gandhi regarding haryana elections, ashok gehlot said that both the leaders said that we have to get to the bottom of this defeat as to how we lost the election which was already won. On Jat becoming non-Jat, he said, "Jat vs non-Jat has happened in haryana before. Maybe it has happened this time too. bjp created an atmosphere and people got scared that the government of Jats is coming."
Furthermore he said, "We discussed all the issues whether we lost due to factionalism, or due to loss of Dalit votes, or due to EVM or due to some other reason. We will find out whether we lost due to factionalism or due to Hooda vs Selja." ashok gehlot said, "It is not that we were kept away from reality. Because everyone had this feedback that congress is winning the election. Then why did we lose, this will be assessed."
