A very shocking case has come to light in Delhi. A cockroach has been removed from the intestine of a 23-year-old young man. The surprising thing is that this cockroach was alive in the intestine and its length was 3 cm. Hospital officials gave this information.
Actually, a patient came to Fortis Hospital in Vasant Kunj, Delhi. He had eaten street food. Since then, he was having continuous pain in his stomach. Dr. Shubham Vatsya, Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology, said that before coming to the hospital, the young man had complained of severe stomach pain, difficulty in digesting food and flatulence for three consecutive days. After this, upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy was done which revealed a live cockroach trapped in the patient's small intestine.
Cockroach removed through endoscopy
According to news agency PTI, the hospital said on friday (September 11) that the process of removing the cockroach from the intestine took 10 minutes. It was taken out from his small intestine. Specialized endoscopy was used in this process. This had two challenges.
Problems could have increased due to delay in treatment
The doctor said that he worked quickly by doing endoscopy. When the doctors asked the patient how such a big cockroach entered his stomach, the patient could not answer anything. At the same time, the doctors have speculated that the patient must have swallowed the cockroach while eating food or it must have gone into his mouth while sleeping. According to the doctors, the cockroach has the ability to survive in any situation. Dr. Shubham Vatsya, who treated the patient, said that if the treatment was delayed, the patient's trouble could have increased due to infection.
