A big revelation has been made during the court hearing in the Nikki Yadav murder case of South-West Delhi. During the testimony in the delhi court, the father of the victim (Nikki Yadav) claimed that his daughter and the accused Sahil Gehlot were married. Sahil Gehlot is accused of killing Nikki and hiding her body in a fridge. The father of the victim (Nikki Yadav) has alleged in the court that the police had seized the marriage certificate of his daughter and the accused Sahil Gehlot from her rented house. delhi police has filed a charge sheet against Gehlot and five others in this case.
'That's why the decision was taken to kill Nikki'
delhi police had initially claimed that the accused had confessed to killing the woman. According to the police, the accused had told that the woman was pressuring him not to marry someone else as per the wishes of his family, so he took the step of killing Nikki Yadav.
'The victim had opposed the second marriage'
According to delhi police, the woman had opposed the marriage arranged by Gehlot's family. When the accused could not convince the woman to allow him to marry someone else, he killed her. police later said that Nikki and Gehlot had married each other in 2020.
'Claimed to have received marriage certificate'
The victim's father, while testifying before Additional Sessions Judge Gurmohina Kaur on october 9, said that on february 14, 2023, the police had told him over the phone that his daughter's body was recovered from Mitraon village and the next day the body was handed over to him after post-mortem. He said, 'On february 18, 2023, I was again called by the police officials. The police had found a marriage certificate and a booklet of accused Sahil Gehlot and Nikki. The booklet had Nikki's handwriting, which I recognised. The police seized the marriage certificate and the booklet.' november 16 has been fixed as the date for further hearing in this case. Sahil Gehlot was arrested on february 14 in this murder case. While his father Virendra Singh, cousin and friends were arrested three days later.
