He said that the neighbouring country is responsible for the protests of PTI within Pakistan. Iqbal's statement came on october 15 while criticizing the appeal of Imran Khan's party pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to protest near the parliament of Pakistan.

Iqbal accused PTI and said that the Chinese President's visit to pakistan was delayed in 2014 due to the protests of this party. He appealed to PTI supporters to recognize how the party's protests are harming the country's development and economic reform efforts. He accused the party of obstructing the country's progress.
