Green kanpur, Clean kanpur campaign has come to a halt and there is a pile of garbage everywhere in the city. The work of garbage collection has come to a complete halt. kanpur Municipal Corporation takes the responsibility of garbage disposal but kanpur Municipal Corporation is helpless at this time because the vehicles with which garbage is collected are not in a condition to run. kanpur Municipal Corporation does not have the arrangement of petrol and diesel to operate these vehicles. The authorized petrol pump has refused to give fuel to the Municipal Corporation. Also, it has given an ultimatum to pay the previous dues.

The Municipal Corporation has about 400 vehicles through which the garbage of the city is collected but for the last 4 months, the payment of Rs 1200 crore has not been made to the authorized petrol pump yet. At the same time, petrol pump owners had high hopes in the hope of payment of bills from the Municipal Corporation, but the hopes do not seem to be fulfilled. About 250 tons of garbage is generated from the outskirts of the city which is sent to the Panki plant outside the city but now due to lack of fuel, it is not reaching the plant. There are heaps of garbage in all areas of the city, whether it is the JCB that lifts the garbage or the vehicles carrying the garbage, all are standing lifeless without fuel.

What does the Municipal Commissioner say?

On the other hand, Municipal Commissioner Sudhir Kumar denied this and said that the garbage is being disposed of, there is no problem. If the officials of the driver Safai Karamchari Sangh are to be believed, the Municipal Corporation has not yet paid the dues due to which the heaps of garbage are not being cleared. About 7000 liters of fuel is required daily and the authorized pump owners have refused to give fuel. There are many areas in the city where there is a pile of garbage.
