A four-year-old child died after an open gym equipment installed in a park in Moti nagar area of West delhi fell on his chest. After this incident, people in the area are deeply angry with the MCD and DDA officials. delhi police said that the deceased has been identified as master Arvind.

The father of the deceased works as a laborer in Saudi Arabia. While his mother is a housewife.

DCP West Vichitra Veer said that on sunday a call was received at Moti nagar police station, in which it was told that a child was declared dead on reaching acharya Shri bhikshu Hospital. Investigation into the matter revealed that the child was playing in a park in Moti nagar A Block, which has an open gym, when an equipment fell on his chest, due to which he became unconscious. The child was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The officer said that the police have registered a case of negligence and started investigation.

MCD and DDA responsible

bjp mp from delhi Bansuri Swaraj claimed that the child died after a swing fell on him in a park, as she blamed negligence on the part of the Municipal Corporation of delhi (MCD) for the incident. Demanding proper compensation for the family of the deceased, Swaraj claimed that a similar incident had occurred in the same area last year, which clearly shows the poor maintenance of MCD parks. The bjp mp also claimed that the police registered an FIR in the case only after the intervention of local bjp leaders. According to the delhi Development Authority (DDA) website, open gyms have been set up at around 342 places. Children died in parks in the national capital.
