Where india may need US Predator drones?
India is purchasing these drones specifically to improve its surveillance capabilities along its indian Ocean border with China. The agreement includes 16 Sky Guardian drones for the indian army and air Force and 15 sea Guardian drones for the indian Navy. Each air force and army will receive eight drones. This will enable them to keep an eye on the whole India-China border.
Apart from this, this drone can be used to identify and monitor terrorist activities, especially in sensitive areas like Jammu and Kashmir. These drones can be used to assess the situation during natural disasters and assist in relief operations. These drones can be helpful in collecting intelligence, identifying targets and detecting potential threats. Apart from this, with the help of this drone, it will help in establishing better coordination between different security forces, which will make collective security efforts more effective.
These drones will be placed at various locations.
These US Predators will be stationed in a variety of locations. The indian Navy will use some of these drones at INS Rajaji in chennai and Porbandar in Gujarat. These drones would be controlled simultaneously by the army and the indian air Force from Sarsawa air Force Base and Gorakhpur. Fifteen of these drones will be used to monitor the marine regions, and the remaining drones will be used to keep an eye on Pakistan's and China's borders.
