Air india passengers reached Chicago by air Force plane!
The Canadian air Force plane has brought 191 passengers from an air india flight from Iqaluit airport to Chicago. The air india plane left for Chicago on october 15, 2024, but after receiving a bomb threat on the plane, its route was diverted and it was taken to Iqaluit.
According to the air india officer, the passengers were taken by a Canadian air Force plane, which took off from Iqaluit at 3:54 am UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). They have now reached Chicago. The plane was diverted to Iqaluit after receiving a bomb threat. There were 211 passengers on board, including 20 crew members. The plane had to wait for more than 18 hours after reaching Iqaluit, after which the passengers were taken to Chicago. The air india official also said that the passengers could only carry carry-on bags in the Canadian air Force plane. All their luggage will be taken to Chicago by air india plane.
Accommodation could not be arranged in Iqaluit
Canadian Emergency Preparedness minister Harjit Sajjan said that 211 passengers of the plane were stuck. Despite many efforts, proper accommodation could not be arranged for them in the city of Iqaluit. He posted on X, "After consultation with Transport minister Anita anand and as Emergency Preparedness minister, I have approved the use of Canadian air Force resources to reduce the pressure on Iqaluit and send the passengers safely to their destination Chicago." air india also thanked the Iqaluit airport authorities and Canadian authorities for the cooperation given to the passengers and the airline.

Air India's Boeing 777-300 ER plane going to Chicago was diverted to a Canadian airport after receiving a bomb threat. The Royal Canadian Mounted police said that the plane was landed in an emergency situation at Iqaluit and all 211 passengers including crew members were disembarked. At least 10 indian planes have received bomb threats in the last two days and after security checks, nothing suspicious was found in those planes.
