bjp has announced the names of candidates on seven seats for the by-elections to be held on 9 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. bjp has made the biggest bet on Karhal seat, which is called the stronghold of Samajwadi party, bjp has declared SP chief Akhilesh Yadav's brother-in-law Anuj Yadav as the candidate on this seat. Karhal seat of Mainpuri is considered to be the stronghold of SP and since 1993, only SP candidates have won this seat. From 1993 to 1996, Babu ram Yadav, from 2002 to 2022, Sobran Singh Yadav has won this seat continuously. In the year 2022, Sobran Singh Yadav won on bjp ticket, then he joined SP. Then in the 2022 assembly elections, SP chief akhilesh yadav defeated bjp candidate SP Singh Baghel.
bjp candidate Anujesh Pratap Singh is the brother-in-law of SP mp Dharmendra Yadav from Azamgarh. SP candidate from Karhal Tej Pratap Yadav also has a special relationship with Anujesh and Anuj Pratap Singh is his uncle. Anuj Pratap Singh is the husband of former district Panchayat President of Mainpuri sandhya Yadav. However, SP leader and Azamgarh mp Dharmendra Yadav rejects this relationship. His letter came out in the year 2019 itself in which he refused to accept any relationship with Anujesh.
bjp has bet on Anuj Yadav from the hot seat of Yadav dominated Karhal, so that bjp can make a dent in the vote bank of Yadavs here. Samajwadi party has fielded SP chief Akhilesh Yadav's cousin and former mp Tej Pratap Yadav from Karhal. Earlier, SP chief akhilesh yadav himself has represented the Karhal seat.

Let us tell you that out of the nine seats in UP, bjp has announced the names of 7 candidates. bjp has declared Ramveer Singh Thakur from Kundarki, sanjeev Sharma from Ghaziabad, Surendra Diler from Khair, Anuj Yadav from Karhal, deepak Patel from Phulpur, Dharmaraj Nishad from Katehari and Suchismita Maurya from Majhawan as candidates. At the same time, bjp has left one seat Meerapur for its ally RLD and bjp can soon announce the name of its candidate on the remaining ninth seat Sisamau.
