As per report aam aadmi party has announced that AAP will not contest maharashtra assembly elections. It was told by the party that AAP's national convenor arvind kejriwal will campaign for the candidates of Mahavikas Aghadi. aam aadmi party MP sanjay singh wrote on his x handle, "Party's national convenor arvind kejriwal will campaign for MVA candidates in maharashtra elections. aam aadmi party will not contest elections in Maharashtra."
Perhaps earlier there was a discussion that aam aadmi party could contest assembly elections in Maharashtra. If reports are to be believed, the party was planning to field its candidate on one seat. AAP was planning to field its candidate from Malabar Hill. However, now the party has officially announced not to contest maharashtra elections.
Moreover on AAP's announcement of not contesting elections in maharashtra, delhi government minister and senior AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said, "It is the greatness of both our alliance partners sharad pawar and uddhav thackeray that they had offered us one seat in maharashtra while fulfilling the dharma of the alliance. But aam aadmi party is not a party that contests elections just for the sake of contesting elections or asks for seats for its ego. We feel that the party contests elections where we can do well and where we feel that we can play an important role in defeating BJP." He further said, "We believe that our alliance partners can fight good elections in Maharashtra. Their contesting elections can harm BJP. That is why we have said that we will campaign for them but we will not contest elections."
