Policemen have been transferred in view of the assembly elections in Maharashtra. The Eknath Shinde-led government of maharashtra on wednesday (30 October) reshuffled more than 260 policemen ahead of the assembly elections in the state on november 20. This also includes 150 mumbai policemen. An official gave information regarding the transfer of policemen.
According to the PTI report, the policemen have been transferred after the instructions of the election Commission. In the instructions issued by the election commission, it was said to transfer those officers who have served in their home districts or current postings for more than three years.
Transfer of policemen in maharashtra before elections
In this, about 150 mumbai police officers including senior inspectors have been transferred to various districts including Gadchiroli, Gondia, Bhandara, nagpur and Washim. Some police officers of Navi mumbai and Mira Bhayander, Vasai Virar police Commissionerate have also been transferred. At the same time, police officers from various districts have been deployed in Mumbai. There are 36 assembly seats in the mumbai region.

About 8,000 candidates, including both the ruling and opposition camps, have filed nominations. A statement issued by the state's Chief Electoral Officer's office said that 7,995 candidates have filed 10,905 nominations with the election Commission.
