In the jharkhand assembly elections, voters can vote using 12 other alternative identity cards besides the Voter ID issued by the election commission of India. jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K. ravi Kumar gave this information in a meeting with representatives of political parties on Wednesday. He said that any person whose name is registered in the voter list has the right to vote. He asked the representatives of political parties to campaign in the assembly elections by following the Model Code of Conduct.

The Chief Electoral Officer said, "If for any reason the voter does not have the identity card issued by the election commission, then he can cast his vote by showing any of the identity cards like aadhar Card, MNREGA job Card, Driving License, PAN Card, indian Passport, Pension Documents with Photo; service Identity Card with Photo issued to employees by the Central, State Government, PSU, Public Limited Companies, Passbook with Photo issued by Bank, Post Office, Smart Card issued by RGI under National population Register, health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labor. Disabled voters will also be able to vote on the basis of Unique Disability ID issued by Ministry of Social Justice and on MP, MLA, MLC official identity card."

Political parties should follow the code of conduct - Chief Electoral Officer

The Chief Electoral Officer asked the representatives of political parties to spread awareness. He said that it should be ensured that no voter is deprived of exercising the right to vote. Cooperation is expected from all political parties in clean, fair and peaceful voting. He also asked the representatives of political parties to ensure compliance with the Model Code of Conduct. Representatives of various political parties raised questions about the problems faced during the assembly election campaign and the commission's guidelines. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Neha Arora, OSD Geeta Chaubey and other officials were present in the meeting.
