In what can only be described as the most “groundbreaking” move ever seen in American political history, Vice President Kamala harris has decided to spend election Night at none other than Howard university – her alma mater and, of course, the "Black Harvard." Clearly, this is a choice with no intention other than profound symbolism, because nothing says "taking the pulse of the nation" quite like watching it from an insulated campus lounge.

Let’s pause to appreciate the significance here. No, really. As she’s seated in a carefully curated room, possibly accompanied by a tasteful Howard university backdrop and at least three strategically placed flags, the vice president will no doubt feel that familiar surge of nostalgia. After all, this is where her journey began, and surely the vibes from 20-year-old textbooks and inspiring plaques will propel her toward… well, toward tuesday night results.

There’s also the added layer of buzz because, let’s face it, what better place to “make history” than a place with historic in its name? And we all know how much politicians love a photo op with gravitas. So, sit back, America, and let Kamala show you just how symbolically invested she is in the people. After all, everyone in the country can relate to spending election night at the nearest Ivy League-adjacent institution.

Howard university is, of course, iconic, just as Harvard is iconic. We’re not technically supposed to say that Howard is the "Harvard" of HBCUs, but here we are. This night will be one for the books, or at least for one more photo-op. Grab your popcorn.
