There is good news for electricity consumers in Uttar Pradesh. If you are not able to pay your electricity bill in full due to any reason, then you can get electricity by making a partial payment. Not only this, if the connection has been cut due to non-payment of the bill, then also the connection can be reconnected by paying 25 percent of the bill. UP Power Corporation (UPPCL) management has taken this important decision regarding defaulters.
In this regard, new orders have been issued by UPPCL regarding partial payment. In which category wise has been decided for different consumers. Giving information about this, UPPCL director Pankaj Kumar said that Lifeline consumers with low electricity consumption will be able to use electricity by depositing the total outstanding bill of ten percent or Rs 250, whichever is higher.
You can use electricity by making partial payment
The electricity connection of other category defaulters will not be disconnected after depositing 25 percent or Rs 1000, whichever is higher. This also includes those consumers whose connection has been disconnected due to non-payment of electricity bill. Under the order, such consumers will be able to get their connection reconnected by depositing up to 25 percent of the dues and can use electricity.
Defaulters can deposit partial electricity bill by going to the concerned counter of the electricity department. Apart from this, consumers can make partial payment of electricity bill online or to other bill collection agencies. No one's permission is required for this facility. Such consumers will also be able to make payment more than once in a month. This will also be mentioned on the receipt of the money deposited by the consumer. In which both the amount paid and the outstanding amount will be written. The receipt given by the department will also have the right to disconnect the connection in case of pending electricity bill. To prevent the connection from being disconnected in future, the remaining amount will also have to be paid on time.
