Delhi's primary, middle schools can be upgraded to senior secondary easily. Lieutenant governor VK Saxena (LG Vinai Kumar Saxena) has given a big relief to the societies running schools and getting income tax exemption. delhi Development Authority (DDA) has got approval to upgrade and run schools to senior secondary level without paying additional fee. With the order of the Lieutenant governor, societies and schools will not have to pay additional fee.
Societies and schools will get relief from red tape, education department, DDA. The Lieutenant governor has also directed the DDA to amend the lease deed with the society. On the instructions, DDA has issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for upgrading primary, middle schools to senior secondary.

The SOP states that such schools will be able to take advantage of additional floor area ratio (FAR) for upgradation. They will not need to pay any fee for this. Societies-schools will now be able to apply to DDA for No Objection Certificate (NOC) to avail additional FAR for upgradation from primary, middle to secondary-senior secondary level, along with permission of the education Department, affiliation proof from the board (CBSE, ICSE etc.) and income tax exemption certificate.
Schools will be easily upgraded
After receiving the application, DDA's proceedings will start. DDA will find out whether the applicant has any dues of land rent etc. It will also be known whether he has occupied any additional area. The upgradation of societies-schools will definitely have to be in accordance with the delhi Building By-laws and according to the law, the concerned officer will have to approve its layout plan.
