elections are to be held in maharashtra on november 20. Before this, slogans like 'Bantenge to Katenge' and 'Ek Hain to Safe Hain' are being discussed a lot here. Recently, a poster with the picture of UP cm Yogi Adityanath with the slogan 'Bantenge to Katenge' was seen in maharashtra, since then the discussion on it gained momentum. After this, PM narendra modi said 'Ek Hain to Safe Hain', which the bjp made its election slogan.
While on one hand the leaders of the bharatiya janata party (BJP) are promoting these slogans vigorously, questions are being raised from the opposition. However, now voices are being raised against this slogan within the nda as well. Recently, nda ally ajit pawar objected to this slogan. Now some bjp leaders are also objecting to it.
What did ashok chavan say?
bjp mp and former maharashtra chief minister ashok chavan said in an interview, "The slogan 'Bantenge to Katenge' is not right. people will not even appreciate it. If I talk about myself, I do not give much importance to the rhetoric of 'vote jihad vs religious war', because the policy of bjp and the ruling Mahayuti is the development of the country and Maharashtra."
I do not support this slogan - Pankaja Munde
Pankaja Munde, a veteran leader of maharashtra bjp and considered the OBC face of the party, has also opposed the slogan 'Bantenge to Katenge'. Pankaja Munde said that she does not support this slogan and maharashtra does not need this kind of politics. She said, "To be honest, my politics is different. I will not support it just because I am from the same party." The bjp leader said, "I believe that we should work on development and fight elections on that issue. The job of a leader is to make everyone his own at this grassroots level. So we do not need to bring any such issue in Maharashtra."
