In the trends so far of the counting of votes for the by-elections held on nine assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh, which is going on amid tight security since 8 am on Saturday, the ruling bharatiya janata party (BJP) led national democratic alliance (NDA) is ahead on 7 seats and the state's main opposition party Samajwadi party (SP) is ahead on 2 seats. According to the election Commission, in the counting of votes till 2.40 pm, bjp ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) is ahead in Meerapur and bjp in Kundarki, Ghaziabad, Khair, Majhawan Katehari, and Phulpur. SP candidates have taken the lead in Karhal, Sisamau and assembly seats.
According to this, RLD's Mithilesh Pal in Meerapur is ahead of his nearest rival SP's Sumbul Rana by 18,281 votes, in Kundarki, BJP's Ramveer Singh is ahead of his nearest rival SP's Mohammad Rizwan by 55,082 votes, in Ghaziabad, BJP's sanjeev Sharma is ahead of SP's Singhraj Jatav by 38,007 votes. Similarly, in Khair (reserved), BJP's Surendra Diler is ahead of his SP rival Charu Ken by 19,884 votes, in Phulpur BJP's deepak Patel is ahead of SP candidate Mohammad Mujtaba Siddiqui by 3,877 votes, and in Majhawan BJP's Suchismita Maurya is ahead of SP candidate Dr. Jyoti Bind by 2,772 votes.
