But the congress alliance was reduced to 50 seats. BJP weakened the opposition by working on its alliance strategy and grassroots level. The Mahayuti alliance (BJP, Shiv Sena-Shinde faction and NCP-Ajit Pawar faction) gained lead in more than 200 seats.
