The bombay high court has granted bail to chetan Patil in the Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj statue collapse case. chetan Patil was a consultant for building the statue. After which there was a lot of uproar. chetan was arrested in the month of august itself. chetan has been granted bail on a bond of Rs 25,000. chetan Patil was arrested from Kolhapur on august 30. On august 26, a 35-feet high statue of the iconic maratha warrior collapsed in Sindhudurg district. About nine months before the incident, prime minister narendra Modi unveiled it on Navy Day.

A single bench of Justice AS Killor said on thursday that chetan Patil is not involved in the case as he was not appointed as the structural designer of the statue. chetan Patil had only submitted the structural stability report of the base of the statue, which was still intact after the statue fell. The court will hear the bail plea of another accused Jaydeep Apte, who was a sculptor and contractor, on november 25.
