The bharatiya janata party has raised questions about the management of Waqf land, while the maharashtra government has announced an immediate allocation of Rs 10 crore to the State Waqf Board. In this regard, the Minority Department has also issued a government Decision (GR). The maharashtra government has decided to give Rs 10 crore to the Waqf Board for the welfare of minorities in the financial year 2024-25. According to the information given in the government decision, a total provision of 20 crores has been made in the year 2024-25 through budget estimates and supplementary demand. Out of that, a grant of 2 crores has been distributed to the Waqf Board, so now 10 crores will be paid. This fund will be given to strengthen the Waqf Board.

Caretaker government cannot take decision- BJP

At the same time, bjp leaders are calling the government decision a mistake and say that it will be corrected. This government decision is also present on the ministry's website. bjp spokesperson Keshav Upadhyay says, "There is a caretaker government in maharashtra right now. It cannot take any decision. It seems that the decision to allocate money to the Waqf has been taken at the administrative level. We hope that the administrative decision will be considered."

Shiv Sena-UBT had given a sharp reaction

Before the elections, in the month of June, the Minority Welfare Department had allocated funds to the Waqf Board in Sambhajinagar and two crore rupees were released. It was said that the remaining funds would be released later. After the announcement of the election date in October, this amount could not be released. There was a reaction from Shiv Sena-UBT on this decision. mp Priyanka Chaturvedi had said that on one hand there is a tussle going on in maharashtra regarding the formation of the government and on the other hand money has been allocated to the Waqf Board and this is their pretense.
