The allahabad high court will hear the petition filed demanding a scientific survey of the Wazukhana located in the disputed Gyanvapi complex in varanasi on monday (2 december 2024) at 2 pm. The petition has demanded a survey of the Wazukhana by the Archaeological survey of india (ASI). Like the rest of the complex, the survey of the Wazukhana is also demanded to be done by the ASI.

The Muslim side has opposed the survey of the Wazukhana by the ASI, the Muslim side has argued that the supreme court has banned it. In the petition, the survey of the Wazukhana has been described as very important to determine the religious character of the disputed complex. It has been said that the rest of the Wazukhana Khana should also be surveyed except the Shivling.

Demand for survey of the rest of the Wazukhana

It has been argued that the high court had ordered carbon dating of the Shivling last year, which was stayed by the supreme Court. In that petition, a demand was made to conduct a survey of the Shivling. The petition has been filed by plaintiff Rakhi Singh. In which a demand has been made to conduct a survey of the rest of the Wazukhana except the Shivling, the petition has been filed through petitioner advocate Saurabh Tiwari. A single bench of Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal is hearing the case.

It is worth noting that the Civil Judge Senior Division Fast Track of varanasi District court had rejected the petition of the Hindu side in the Gyanvapi case in which an ASI survey of the entire Gyanvapi complex was demanded. The court had said in the decision that the entire campus of Gyanvapi would not be surveyed. Then the lawyer of the Hindu side, Vijay shankar Rastogi had said that he would go to the high court against this decision.
