After the formation of the new government in Maharashtra, preparations are being made to start an intensive investigation process for the ambitious scheme 'Larki Bahin Yojana' created to empower eligible women across the state. More than two crore women are already getting benefits from this scheme. The government is now focusing on ensuring that the assistance reaches only eligible recipients.

The purpose of this verification process is to find out whether the claims of the applicants are correct or not, so that transparency is ensured in the distribution of financial assistance. Every woman receiving benefits under the scheme will have to go through this verification process, with the help of which those who take advantage of the scheme by making false claims can be removed.

According to the state's finance department, the investigation will include almost all two crore applicants who have already taken installments under this scheme. Through this process, the documents submitted will be cross-checked with official records to identify those who make false claims or commit fraud. In this way, the financial department is trying to ensure that only those who are eligible and need financial help get government help under this scheme.

These documents will be checked

Income proof: Applicants will have to submit documents confirming their family's annual income, which is capped at Rs 2.5 lakh per annum.

Income tax certificate: These will be checked to validate the validity of the beneficiaries.

Retirement pension and vehicle ownership: Applicants receiving pension or owning a four-wheeler will face additional scrutiny.

Land ownership: women owning more than five acres of land will not be eligible for this scheme.

Limit of beneficiaries per family: Solving the problem of multiple claims in a family, only two women per family will be given benefits.
