Earlier on Wednesday, Mayor Mahesh Kumar held a weekly review meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of 5 zones Najafgarh Zone, Civil Lines Zone, Keshavpuram Zone, rohini Zone and Narela Zone to know the progress of the work being done to eliminate garbage sensitive points (GVP). Deputy Mayor ravindra Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioners, Sanitation Superintendents and agency representatives participated in this high-level meeting.

Perhaps during this, the Mayor held a meeting with the officials regarding the status of each GVP point area-wise and the challenges and possible solutions in eliminating GVP. During the meeting, the Mayor instructed the officials to issue challans for throwing garbage at GVP points. During the meeting, the Mayor instructed the Deputy Commissioners to beautify the removed GVP, install dustbins there and close the area with sheets. The mayor said that GVP points are being monitored through the app, soon all GVPs will be eliminated. GVP points can be eliminated only with continuous monitoring, honest efforts and citizen participation.

Moreover the mayor gave strict instructions to the officials that photos should be shared with him after cleaning the GVP every morning and evening. The mayor discussed the issues related to GVP and also received progress reports from the concerned officials. Deputy Mayor ravindra Bhardwaj said that this meeting is part of a comprehensive initiative to clean delhi, under which the GVPs identified in each zone are being eliminated. We have resolved to clean each ward thoroughly, so that a clean and healthy environment can be ensured for the residents of Delhi. Only with the cooperation of the citizens, we will definitely achieve the resolution of making delhi a clean and beautiful city.
