Chandra arya was the only mp in the house of Commons of canada who raised his voice against this proposal and prevented it from being passed.
MP Chandra arya wrote on the social media platform X, 'Today the mp from Surrey-Newton attempted to declare the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in india as genocide against Sikhs. He sought unanimous consent from all the MPs of the house of Commons to pass his proposal. ' He further said, 'I was the only member of the house who said 'no' against this proposal and my one objection was enough to prevent this proposal from being accepted. '
