Reportedly after the maharashtra assembly election results, there is a ruckus in the state regarding EVM. Meanwhile, bjp leader Gopichand Padalkar has targeted ncp (SP) chief Sharad Pawar. He said that if he does not trust EVM, then he should ask his daughter and grandson to resign from the post of mp and MLA. bjp mla Padalkar and MLC Sadabhau Khot addressed a public meeting in Markadwadi village of Solapur district. Here last week the villagers opened a front against EVM and tried to conduct voting through ballot paper.

Perhaps on the other hand, maharashtra congress President Nana Patole visited the village under Malshiras assembly constituency to express solidarity with the villagers. The congress leader said, "I have come here to understand the sentiments of the people and to witness the movement started by them." Meanwhile Patole claimed that many villages in maharashtra are bringing resolutions in their gram sabhas against EVMs in future elections. Villagers of Mangaon in Raigad district tried to demonstrate the functioning of EVMs but were stopped by the police. He asked why the government was stopping people who have the right to know who they voted for? Patole said the opposition will raise the injustice done to many residents of Markadwadi before the administration and the election Commission.

Moreover Padalkar alleged that Pawar tried to create an impression that the Dhangar community is against the democratic election process. The Dhangar leader said, "I have come here to thwart Pawar's efforts. Out of 100 villages in the (Malshiras) constituency, why was Markadwadi chosen (for anti-EVM demonstration)? The Dhangar community respects democracy." The mla from Jat in Sangli district challenged Pawar and said, "He should ask his daughter and Baramati mp Supriya Sule, his grandson Rohit Pawar and state ncp (SP) chief Jayant Patil to resign before starting a protest against EVMs. The Congress-led UPA came to power after elections with EVMs. Pawar sahab won from Madha lok sabha constituency in 2009 elections, when EVMs were there, but he never visited Markadwadi despite being its representative."
