Perhaps just before the assembly elections in delhi, the aam aadmi party government has expanded the cabinet. AAP mla Raghuvinder Shaukeen took oath as a minister in the delhi government on friday (13 December). After this, chief minister Atishi congratulated him on becoming a minister. cm Atishi wrote on social media platform X, "Congratulations to Raghuvinder Shaukeen ji on taking oath as a minister. I am confident that as a minister, you will serve the people of delhi, make their lives better."

Meanwhile Aam Aadmi Party's national convener arvind kejriwal wrote on X, "Many congratulations and best wishes to Raghuvendra Shaukeen ji on taking oath as a minister." Raghuvinder Shaukeen was administered the oath by delhi Lieutenant governor (LG) VK Saxena at raj Niwas on friday (13 December) at raj Niwas. chief minister Atishi was also present at the ceremony. Shaukeen was inducted into the delhi cabinet on november 18 after prominent Jat leader and Transport minister Kailash Gehlot of AAP left the party. AAP had announced the inclusion of Shaukeen in the cabinet to minimize the loss caused by Kailash Gehlot's departure.

Moreover Raghuvinder Shaukeen, who became a minister in the delhi government, is an aam aadmi party mla from Nangloi Jat assembly seat. Shaukeen has been an mla from Nangloi Jat twice and before that he has also been a councilor twice. After Kailash Gehlot's resignation, he got a chance to join the Atishi Cabinet. He is also considered close to former delhi Deputy cm Manish Sisodia. It is worth noting that assembly elections are to be held in delhi in february next year. congress and aam aadmi party have decided to contest the elections separately. In the recently held lok sabha elections in delhi, both the parties contested together but did not win a single seat. bjp captured all 7 lok sabha seats.
