Reportedly in a joint operation, the Special Cell of delhi police and UP STF have killed the notorious criminal Sonu Matka in an encounter. This encounter took place in TP nagar area of meerut this morning. Sonu Matka was the main accused in the Farsh Bazaar double murder case of delhi on the day of Diwali. There was also a reward of one and a half lakhs on him. DCP of Special Cell Pratiksha Godara said that the cell team had received information about Sonu Matka being on Meerut-Baghpat Road. After getting the information, the Special Cell of delhi police and UP STF laid a trap. As soon as the police surrounded the gangster Sonu Matka started firing. About 12 rounds of firing took place from both sides. Sonu Matka was seriously injured in the encounter and died during treatment in the hospital.
Perhaps according to the police, Sonu Matka alias Anil was a vicious criminal of delhi and UP. Who was also associated with Hashim baba Gang. More than half a dozen cases of murder, robbery and looting were registered against him. According to the police, on 31 october 2024, on the day of Diwali, akash Sharma and his nephew rishabh were shot dead at night in the Farsh Bazaar area of Delhi. Sonu Matka was absconding in this murder case. According to the police, Sonu Matka did this double murder on the behest of gangster Rashid Cable Wala, who is currently abroad. Rashid Cable Wala had an old enmity with akash Sharma. Due to this, Rashid got Sonu to kill akash Sharma.
Moreover according to the police, Sonu Matka joined the world of crime in the year 2015. In the year 2021, he came out of jail on bail and committed many serious crimes. Apart from this, Sonu was also wanted in the case of robbery and murder in Lahori Gate area in the year 2022. Not only this, in the year 2022 itself, Sonu was the main accused in the robbery of one and a half crore in Karol Bagh, Delhi. The police have recovered two pistols, 10 live cartridges and a bike from Sonu Matka. Investigation into the case is ongoing.
