Heartbreaking news has come to light from bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh, where the government vehicle of the Tehsildar of Nanpara hit a bike rider and allegedly dragged the body for 30 km. Officials gave this information on Friday. According to police officials, the deceased has been identified as narendra Kumar Haldar (35), a resident of Payagpur. He was returning home after dropping his niece, when this accident happened on Nanpara-Bahraich road on thursday evening. After the collision, Haldar's body got stuck in the vehicle and was dragged for a long distance to Nanpara Tehsil.

District Magistrate monica Rani has recommended the suspension of Naib Tehsildar Shailesh Awasthi sitting in the vehicle. The police have registered an FIR of the incident and arrested the government vehicle driver. Superintendent of police (SP) Vrinda Shukla told PTI, "When the locations of the deceased narendra Haldar and the Tehsildar's driver Meraj ahmed were tracked through their mobile CDRs, it was confirmed that the body was dragged for 30 km to Nanpara.
She said, "This is gross negligence, how is it possible that such a heavy body was stuck in the vehicle for 30 km and no one came to know about it? It is possible that the vehicle was not stopped due to fear." The SP said that the driver Meraj ahmed has been arrested. The post-mortem of the body has been done. She said that for a detailed investigation of the incident, CCTV footage near the accident site and 30 km route is also being examined.
District Magistrate monica Rani said, "The matter of the car colliding with the bike has come to notice. According to the Naib Tehsildar, he was not aware of the incident. A recommendation has been made to suspend the Naib Tehsildar in the matter.
