Reportedly DHL courier delivery scams have recently targeted a large number of people globally. Reports of this scam have arisen in the past few days from as far away as Singapore, India, and Ireland. The most concerning aspect of this scam is that fraudsters have been able to replicate DHL’s identical shade of yellow as well as its design, typeface, tone, and language. Since DHL is a worldwide carrier and consistently communicates with the public, this new scam has spread widely.
Perhaps if you have ever used a courier service, you are aware that the couriers will either call you if the order cannot be delivered or leave a missed delivery notice if you are not reachable. DHL also uses the same procedure. Additionally, a QR code and instructions on how to set up a different delivery attempt are included in the DHL missed delivery message. You may have noticed that DHL uses a standard template, around the size of a medium postcard, for all missed delivery notes. A QR code and link to the official DHL website, not any other website, will be present on a real DHL missed delivery note.
Moreover it is important to note that to exit your browser and get in touch with DHL right away if you are taken to a website other than DHL. Additionally, keep in mind that DHL will never charge you money to reschedule a delivery; therefore, if you are asked to pay, you can be sure that the website is fraudulent. DHL India, Ireland, and other nations have released a public interest advisory regarding this missing delivery card. It should take you to the “official DHL" website rather than any other website, and it should not request payment.
