Reportedly amidst the politics going on about baba Saheb Ambedkar, uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also attacked the congress strongly. He alleged that the congress is shedding crocodile tears in the name of baba Bhimrao Ambedkar and trying to hide its old policies that insult his legacy. He accused the congress of distorting the statement of home minister amit Shah. chief minister Dhami said that the congress always adopted a derogatory attitude towards baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. Not only tried to prevent him from becoming a member of the Constituent Assembly, but also worked to defeat baba Saheb in the 1952 lok sabha elections and the 1954 by-elections. He was forced to resign from the post of Law minister and his contribution was never respected. In his resignation, baba Saheb had written against the then prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru that only Muslims were worried, but Scheduled Castes (SC) and scheduled tribes (ST) were not given proper protection.
Meanwhile Dhami said that congress did not even give honors like Bharat Ratna, Padma bhushan or padma shri to Ambedkar. Whenever a big leader leaves the country, his legacy is cherished. But, congress never gave importance to the memories of baba Saheb. The memorial was built at his birthplace in madhya pradesh during the bjp rule, which was inaugurated by late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Converting baba Saheb's residence in london into a memorial and the construction of the Ambedkar Center in delhi are the achievements of the bjp government.
Moreover he said that under the leadership of PM Modi, baba Saheb's contribution has been given due respect. Memories have also been built in Deeksha Bhoomi of nagpur and Chaitya Bhoomi of Mumbai. On the contrary, the congress only created obstacles and built hundreds of memorials, hospitals and roads in the name of the Nehru-Gandhi family. Describing amit shah as the strongest home minister of the country after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, cm Dhami said that under his leadership, historic decisions were taken in the interest of the country, among which the removal of article 370 is prominent. Dhami said that the public understands the hypocrisy of the Congress. congress honored Narayan Sadoba Kajrolkar, who contested against baba Saheb, with Padma Bhushan, while baba Saheb was deprived of any government honor. He accused the congress of adopting double standards. This hypocrisy of congress will not last long and the public will give them a befitting reply.
