Reportedly the list of bjp candidates may come out this weekend. The names of former Union ministers, former MPs and delhi officials are in the race. BJP's Central election Committee will take the final decision on this. According to a PTI report, a bjp leader said that the top contenders include former Union ministers harsh vardhan and meenakshi lekhi while Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma is also a contender for the ticket. Let us tell you that all of them have been bjp MPs but they were not given lok sabha tickets in 2024. Former Union minister harsh vardhan wants a ticket from Krishna nagar while meenakshi lekhi wants a ticket from Kasturba Nagar. The bjp leader said that the list of shortlisted probable candidates has been prepared by the State election Committee and the announcement of candidates will start from this week. elections for the 70-member delhi Assembly can be held in February. A senior bjp leader said that the date of the committee meeting has not been decided yet.
Meanwhile Pravesh Verma says that national leaders have asked him to prepare from New delhi seat. arvind kejriwal has been winning elections from this seat since 2013. On the other hand, former South delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri is being considered a contender for ticket from Kalkaji constituency. It is currently represented by cm Atishi. Atishi has been given ticket by AAP again from here.
Moreover many prominent officials of delhi bjp as well as former state president and mayor are also involved in the race for ticket, while former delhi bjp president Satish Upadhyay is claiming from Malviya nagar seat. Another former state bjp president Adesh Gupta is claiming from New delhi seat, former mayor ravindra Gupta and jai Prakash are claiming from Sadar Bazar. Apart from these, bjp general secretary vishnu Gupta and raj Kumar Bhatia have also demanded ticket.
