The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has come up with a new policy for hand baggage. It is important to know about this new rule, otherwise you may have to face difficulties at the airport. In fact, in view of the increasing number of passengers at the security checkpoints, BCAS and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) have tightened the hand baggage policy, which will now have to be followed by all airlines. Under this new rule, now passengers will be able to carry only one hand bag with them inside the plane. Whether the flight is domestic or international, now only one hand bag will be allowed inside.


Perhaps according to the new hand baggage policy of BCAS, now passengers will be able to carry only one hand or cabin bag inside the flight. air india said, passengers traveling in economy or premium economy class are allowed to carry one hand bag weighing up to 7 kg, while for those traveling in first or business class it is around 10 kg. According to the rules set by the airlines, the total dimension of the hand bag should not exceed 55 cm (21.6 inches) in height, 40 cm (15.7 inches) in length and 20 cm (7.8 inches) in width.


Passengers who have booked tickets before May 2, 2024, will be kept out of the purview of this rule for now. The new policy of hand baggage will be applicable on any changes made after this date. Along with this, if a passenger wants to carry a purse or laptop bag with him, then its weight should also not exceed 3 kg.
