The process of filing nomination papers has begun in 100 municipal bodies of Uttarakhand. Nomination papers will be filed from 10 am on 27 december to 5 pm on 30 December. A large number of candidates reached the entire district including rudrapur Municipal Corporation, the district headquarters of Udham Singh nagar district, and purchased nomination papers. At the same time, a heavy police force has been deployed by the administration for security.
As soon as the process of purchasing and filing nomination papers for the municipal corporation elections started at 10 am, those who bought nomination papers reached the office of the Returning Officer and purchased nomination papers. In Udham Singh nagar district, 2 letters for the post of Mayor and 150 letters for the post of councillor were purchased in rudrapur Municipal Corporation, 40 letters for the post of councillor in Kashipur Municipal Corporation, 17 letters for the post of Chairman and 177 letters for the post of councillor in Khatima Municipal Council, 18 letters for the post of Chairman and 157 letters for the post of councillor in Sitarganj Municipal Council, 6 letters for the post of Chairman and 31 letters for the post of councillor in Nagla Municipal Council.

Apart from this, nagar Palika Parishad Gadarpur bought 16 papers for the post of Chairman and 102 papers for the post of councillor, nagar Palika Parishad Mahuakheda bought 12 papers for the post of Chairman and 35 papers for the post of councillor, nagar Palika Parishad Jaspur bought 10 papers for the post of councillor, nagar Panchayat Nanakmatta bought 9 papers for the post of Chairman and 52 papers for the post of member, nagar Panchayat Shaktigarh bought 12 papers for the post of Chairman and 42 papers for the post of member, nagar Panchayat Lalpur bought 5 papers for the post of Chairman and 12 papers for the post of member, nagar Panchayat Dineshpur bought 57 papers for the post of member, nagar Panchayat Gularbhoj bought 7 papers for the post of Chairman and 102 papers for the post of member, nagar Panchayat Sultanpur Patti bought 16 papers for the post of chairman and 40 papers for the post of member, nagar Panchayat Kelakheda bought 9 papers for the post of chairman and 52 papers for the post of member, nagar Panchayat Mahuadabra bought 5 papers for the post of chairman and 24 papers for the post of member.
Talking exclusively to ABP Live, Returning Officer Trilok Singh Martolia said that the process of filing nominations has started from 10 am on december 27. From this morning till 5 pm, two candidates for the post of mayor and 150 candidates for the post of councillor have purchased the forms. He said that a huge police force has been deployed in the campus for security purposes.
