The uttarakhand government has made special preparations to maintain smooth traffic and security arrangements keeping in mind the possible increase in the number of tourists in the state on the occasion of New Year. chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, in a high-level meeting held at his official residence, directed the officials to take concrete steps so that tourists do not face any kind of inconvenience.

chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami told the officials that the traffic system should be improved at the busy tourist places and routes of the state, if needed, the number of police and traffic personnel should be increased in these areas. He asked to ensure that tourists do not face jams or other traffic related problems. Along with this, instructions were also given to increase monitoring of vehicles entering the state and take strict action against those violating traffic rules.

Instructions for hospitals to remain alert

In the meeting, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami told the officials that in case of any untoward incident, hospitals should be kept on alert mode. Emergency services should be active in all major medical centers and all possible medical assistance should be provided to tourists. He also said that coordination should be ensured between the Disaster Management Department and the police Department so that quick response can be given in any situation. A huge crowd of tourists is expected to gather at major tourist places like Mussoorie, Nainital, Rishikesh, Haridwar, auli in the state. police and security forces have been instructed to keep special vigil at these places. It was also decided in the meeting that the number of CCTV cameras will be increased in sensitive areas and monitoring will be done through drones.
