The national capital delhi is fully prepared for the New Year's celebration. If you are going out of the house for New Year's celebration, then this is very important news for you. delhi police has made many changes to further improve the traffic system on New Year's Eve. Along with this, an advisory has also been issued by DMRC with some changes. delhi police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory regarding the arrangements and restrictions to be made on New Year's Eve in the national capital. There is a festive atmosphere at popular places like Connaught Place, india gate and Hauz Khas. In such a situation, delhi police is active to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety.
2500 personnel deployed for better traffic system
According to the PTI report, about 2,500 personnel have been deployed by the delhi Traffic police to ensure smooth movement of vehicles. 250 teams have been formed to keep an eye on drunk driving on New Year's Eve.
Motorcycle patrol team along with 11 CAPF companies
Along with this, 11 CAPF companies and 40 motorcycle patrol teams along with the same number of foot patrol teams have also been pressed into service. Traffic control measures will remain in force in and around Connaught Place from 8 pm on New Year's Eve till the conclusion of the celebrations, even after midnight.
Traffic restrictions in these areas of Delhi
No vehicle will be allowed to proceed in the area beyond certain points like Mandi house, bengali Market and other major intersections of the national capital. Only those with valid passes can enter the inner, middle or outer circle of Connaught Place.
Special parking arrangements
Parking will be limited in the central area. Special arrangements have been made for parking near Gol Dak Khana, patel Chowk and Mandi house on a 'first come, first served' basis. Unauthorizedly parked vehicles will be towed and fined. Alternative routes have been suggested for those heading towards New delhi Railway Station - such as using ram Manohar Lohia Park Street, Mandir Marg and Rani jhansi Road. Public transport users have been advised to use the metro. In view of the possibility of congestion, officials have advised passengers to avoid Bhairon Road or mathura Road between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Pragati Maidan.
