delhi Lieutenant governor Vinay Saxena has advised the aam aadmi party government to increase the existing allowance given to Asha workers from Rs 3,000 per month to Rs 9,000. With this advice, the lg said that this step has been taken in view of the fact that there was a provision to revise their allowance every three years, despite this, their allowance was last increased in 2018. Along with this, the lg has directed the delhi government to release the salary of Anganwadi supervisors as soon as possible.
The lg met a delegation of Asha workers and Anganwadi workers at raj Niwas and this has been said by the Lieutenant governor after the talks. Actually, under the National health Mission, accredited social health workers work as non-medical health workers. This delegation appealed to the Lieutenant governor for help by complaining of being paid less despite the rising inflation. They said that even after repeatedly telling the government on this issue, the government is not listening to them. The last time the allowance they get was revised was in 2018 and according to the cabinet decision taken at that time, it was to be revised every three years.

The Lieutenant governor told them that the issues raised by them are related to transferred subjects, which completely fall under the jurisdiction of the aam aadmi party (AAP) government. However, the Lieutenant governor said that he has full sympathy with them and their demands are justified and he will also advise the government to help them.
