A case of stone pelting between two groups has come to light in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. Tension between two groups increased over blowing of horn by the vehicle carrying shiv sena minister Gulabrao Patil's family. According to the information, stone pelting and arson took place in Paladhi village of Jalgaon district on tuesday night.
The dispute started when the driver of the vehicle carrying minister Gulabrao Patil's family honked, which angered the people. After this, there was an altercation between the villagers and party workers. The angry mob pelted stones and set shops and vehicles on fire. Heavy police force has been deployed in many areas of Jalgaon. police have registered a case against about 25 people and detained about 10 people.
Curfew imposed till this evening
Jalgaon ASP Kavita Nerkar said that curfew has been imposed in the village till wednesday evening so that peace is maintained in the area. The villagers are appealed not to go against the law and maintain peace. He said that on tuesday night, a fight broke out between two groups in Parda village under dharan village police station over a minor dispute, in which some shops were set on fire.
He said that after this, a large number of police forces have been deployed. At present the situation is under control. A case has been registered against 20 to 25 unidentified people in this matter. Last month, violence broke out in Parbhani city after a copy of the Constitution placed in front of the statue of baba Saheb Ambedkar in front of the Collector's office was broken. After this, violence took an aggressive turn in Parbhani. Protesters threw stones at various places. Shops and cars were also burnt on the road.
