For the past four months, people have been waiting for the start of metro service on the Janakpuri West-Krishna Park Extension corridor under Phase Four of delhi Metro. Till now, the date for the start of metro service on this corridor has not been announced. However, it is expected that the metro operations will start on this corridor before the announcement of delhi Assembly elections.

In fact, the list of voters for the delhi Assembly elections is to be released on january 6, after which the delhi Assembly elections can be announced anytime. In such a situation, it is being speculated that metro operations can start on this corridor before january 6. Along with this, the foundation stone for the construction of Rithala-Kundli corridor is also likely to be laid.

Preparations for operation complete

Preparations for operation on this small corridor (Janakpuri West-Krishna Park Extension Corridor) of the under-construction Janakpuri West-RK Ashram corridor have been completed. The Metro rail Safety Commissioner (CMRS) had inspected the safety standards of the metro track, signal system, krishna Park Extension Metro Station platform, control room etc. of this corridor on 30 July and preparations were on to start operations in august itself.

For this reason, it has not been inaugurated till now

On 30 august, CMRS had given approval to DMRC to start metro operations on this corridor. Then DMRC had said that it would soon announce the date for operation, but despite being fully ready, this corridor has not been inaugurated till now due to political reasons.
