Special camps are being organized to provide benefits of DDA's 'cheap house' scheme, which was approved by the Lieutenant governor last week. The Lieutenant governor Secretariat has written a letter to the Chief Secretary of delhi and asked all the concerned departments to organize special camps to take advantage of DDA's recently announced housing scheme and for the convenience of the beneficiaries.
Under this scheme, the identified beneficiaries will be able to buy houses at a discount of 25 percent. The identified categories include construction and other laborers, auto or taxi drivers, women, Veer Nari, ex-servicemen, Divyangjan, gallantry and arjuna award winners, people of scheduled caste or Scheduled Tribe category.

delhi Building & Other Construction Welfare Boards will organize special camps in a decentralized manner at the construction sites of DMRC, NCRTC, CPWD, NHAI to provide benefits of this scheme and to start other schemes of the board.
Who will get priority?
Among these, priority will be given to workers, laborers, slum dwellers and those living in rented houses. The State Sainik Board will organize special programs to increase the reach among Veer Nari, ex-servicemen and gallantry or arjuna award winners. The Transport Department will run an awareness campaign among auto or taxi drivers to avail the benefits of this scheme and will organize special camps at ARU/VIU Burari.
delhi scheduled caste Finance and Development Corporation will provide loan facility to applicants of scheduled caste or Scheduled Tribe category. women and Child Development Department, Social Welfare, scheduled caste or Scheduled Tribe Department will organize special camps for street vendors, women, persons belonging to scheduled caste or Scheduled Tribe category and disabled persons.
