The current government of Bhajanlal Sharma of rajasthan is reversing the decisions of the previous ashok gehlot government one after the other. After repealing many schemes of Gehlot Raj, the Bhajanlal government abolished nine newly formed districts and three divisions and now the government is going to review the english medium schools opened in the name of mahatma Gandhi. The cabinet Secretariat Department of the state issued an order on friday (03 January) and formed a committee of ministers under the chairmanship of deputy cm Prem Chand Bairwa to review the english medium schools. Apart from education minister madan Dilawar, Medical minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar and Food minister Sumit Godara have also been included in the committee.
english medium schools were started during the rule of ashok Gehlot
The most important thing is that when the ashok gehlot government started these english medium schools during his rule, the opposition bjp leaders had strongly opposed it. At that time, the Gehlot government had announced to recruit ten thousand teachers separately for english medium schools and to create a separate cadre of teachers. Before the Gehlot government could complete its announcement, his government was dismissed. The announcement of creating a separate cadre was shelved.
How many english medium government schools are there in rajasthan right now?
At present, more than three and a half thousand english medium government schools exist in the state, in which about seven lakh students are studying. education minister madan Dilawar himself, after assuming the charge of the minister, had raised questions on the utility of these english medium schools and said that these schools are just in name, which will be closed.
The committee can recommend closing many schools
Now the committee of ministers will decide the future of these english schools on the basis of teachers, number of students and the infrastructure of the schools. The committee can recommend closing such schools where there is a shortage of teachers or children. Similarly, the committee will also consider closing those schools where the infrastructure is not adequate. Angry with the abolition of districts and divisions, congress has now got another big issue against the government.
