Through this, it can be considered to give them the benefit of medical insurance and provident fund like permanent employees of the private sector. It is possible that the government of india may also consider giving them pension facilities etc. in the future like the employees of the private sector. This will provide them at least the basic minimum security of living even in the absence of job security. The number of gig workers in the country is expected to reach 2 crore 35 lakh by 2030. This will be more than four percent of the entire work force.
