On tuesday (07 January, 2025), four people including 19-year-old Nandan Kumar and forest department personnel Rajesh Kumar Yadav were injured in a leopard attack. After this incident, there has been chaos in the area. The whole matter is of raniganj area of Basantpur block of Supaul. As soon as the leopard was suddenly seen in the house, the condition of the people worsened.
It was told that the women of ashok Mandal's house were busy getting clothes stitched. Meanwhile, the young man Nandan Kumar went inside the house where he heard a roaring sound from under the stool. When he looked under the stool, he saw a wild animal. Seeing this, he started screaming loudly. Meanwhile, that animal (leopard) attacked Nandan. The local people immediately admitted him to Veerpur Hospital.
Leopard could not be caught due to lack of resources
Amid the chaos in the village, the leopard ran into the worship house of Gulay Mandal. Although the local people tried to catch it on their own, the leopard ran away from here as well. Late in the evening, when a woman went to worship, she saw the animal inside and closed the door of the worship house. The Forest Department and Dial 112 were informed about this, but due to lack of adequate resources for rescue, the leopard could not be caught.
The leopard tried to get out by breaking the wall and tin of the roof of the worship house. During this, it attacked PRS Shivranjan Kumar of Bhagwanpur Panchayat. He narrowly escaped as his jacket was torn. Finally, the leopard entered another room, where there was no door. Two other people of Ratanpur police station area were also slightly injured due to this leopard attack.
In this entire matter, Forest Department Ranger ajay Kumar Thakur said that it is difficult to conduct rescue operations at night because there is a shortage of resources. He said that efforts will be made to catch this animal soon. On the other hand, the villagers have demanded proper security measures and rescue resources. There is an atmosphere of panic among the people due to the terror of leopard.
