On Saturday, the roof under construction at the railway station in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh suddenly collapsed. A large number of workers working there were buried in this accident. So far 28 workers have been pulled out of the debris. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out at a fast pace. Samajwadi party chief akhilesh yadav has accused the government of negligence after this incident.
SP chief akhilesh yadav said, "The Kannauj incident is very sad. There was a need to maintain safety during construction, negligence has been shown and the result is that complete information is still not available whether all the workers are alive or not. We hope that no worker will lose his life. The government is negligent and whether it is a small or a big work, negligence as well as corruption is involved in it. It is the responsibility of the government to first get the workers treated and the government should help them." 6 people seriously injured
Kanpur Commissioner K Vijayendra Pandian said, "About 28 people have been rescued. 6 people are seriously injured but are out of danger. There is no report of any loss of life so far. The debris will be cleared in a short while." minister Rajni Tiwari said, "Some people have been injured due to the collapse of the under-construction lintel at Kannauj railway station. According to our information, there are 24 people. Teams are working there and proper investigation of those who have been injured is going on."
Deputy chief minister Keshav prasad Maurya said, "The government has instructed that immediate relief and rescue work should be done there. The accident will be investigated and action will be taken against whoever is found guilty." According to media reports, on receiving information about the collapse of the under-construction roof, the SDRF team reached the spot and started the rescue. The rescue operation has been going on for about five hours. Some workers have been injured in the accident, who have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
