Scope of Naxalism decreasing, but danger is not over yet!
The Naxalite attack in Bijapur, chhattisgarh has once again shaken the country. On monday (January 13), Naxalites blew up a vehicle of security forces with an IED blast. 8 soldiers were martyred in this attack. In such a situation, the question arises whether the threat of Naxalism is really decreasing? Or is it an illusion that is forcing us to live in a false sense of security?
Although in the last few years many successful operations have been carried out against Naxalites and their area of influence has also shrunk, but this attack shows that they are still deadly and can strike at any time. This attack is a warning for both the security forces and the government. The problem of Naxalism is not over yet.
The biggest Naxalite attack in one and a half years
Naxal attacks keep happening in chhattisgarh, but in the last 600 days there has been no such attack in which 8 or more soldiers have been martyred together. Earlier in april 2023, 10 soldiers and a driver were martyred in a bomb blast in Dantewada. In april 2021, 22 soldiers were martyred in an encounter in Sukma.
This attack in Bijapur is the biggest Naxalite attack in the last one and a half years. It shows that the Naxalites are still dangerous and have the ability to carry out major attacks. This attack is a big challenge for the government.
