Whereas in 2023 only 5,525 units of such houses were sold. This shows that the demand for high-end real estate in Delhi-NCR has increased significantly. This is due to rich buyers and NRIs fond of buying prime property.

Luxury homes are selling more in seven big cities

According to the data of real estate consultancy firm CBRE, 19,700 units of luxury housing units were sold across the country in the year 2024. This was much higher than the 12,895 units in 2023. This figure is of seven big cities of the country, which are also major business centers of the country. In cities where mid-end development projects have traditionally been more popular, now the demand for high-end upscale projects is also increasing. This is especially seen in the cities of Noida, Bengaluru, pune and Chennai.

Fundamental shift in the demand for home ownership

According to the report of business Standard, akash Ohri, Chief business Officer of DLF home, says that due to the change in the feeling of homeownership of people, there has been a fundamental shift in demand. The importance of the place called home is now greater in the minds of people. Ohri says that due to this, there has been an effective change in the luxury housing market of Delhi-NCR. The demand for grand houses with modern facilities at prime locations has also increased in other regions of the country. Due to this, apart from metros, the demand for luxury housing is also increasing in other cities of the country.
